A reference guide for candidates, examiners, and institutions This document answers frequently asked questions about the Public Marketplace feature on Clarilux. It is intended for candidates preparing for board examinations, examiners conducting assessments, and institutions managing their programs.

Section 1 - General Questions

Clarilux is an integrated platform for medical board success, blending AI simulations with live examiner evaluations.
The Public Marketplace is a dedicated module within Clarilux that connects candidates with qualified examiners for mock examinations and assessment sessions.
The Marketplace serves two primary user groups within Clarilux:
  • Candidates: Medical doctors preparing for board or certification examinations who require structured practice and evaluation.
  • Examiners: Experienced clinicians and subject-matter experts who offer mock examinations, assessments, and feedback.
Sign in to your Clarilux account at clarilux.ai and navigate to the Marketplace section. No separate installation or download is required
The following are required for a reliable session experience:
  • A stable broadband internet connection
  • A functional webcam
  • A working microphone
  • An updated supported browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, or Mozilla Firefox)
Note: A quiet environment is strongly recommended for all sessions.

Section 2 - For Candidates

Visit clarilux.ai and click Sign Up. Enter your details, accept the Terms and Conditions, and click Create Account. A verification email will be sent to the address you provided. Click the Verify Email button in that email, then return to the platform and sign in. Once signed in, you can access the Public Marketplace from within Clarilux.
You will need to complete two onboarding steps to help tailor your study pace, practice cases, and reminders to your specific clinical environment:
  • Clinical Background & Role: Select your medical Specialty (e.g., Anesthesiology) and choose your current Role - Resident (PGY1-PGY5), Fellow, Physician, or Preparing for boards independently.
  • Exam Timeline: Indicate whether you have taken this specific board exam before (Yes/No) and select your Target Certification Date using the calendar picker to automatically align your study goals and reminder alerts.
An updated profile enables examiners to prepare relevant cases and calibrate the difficulty of sessions to your level. It also ensures that recommendations and feedback you receive are relevant to your stage of preparation.
Use the Marketplace filters to narrow your search by topic, session type, availability, price, and examiner rating. Each listing displays the examiner’s name, a session description, the price, and any specific requirements or instructions.
Select the session you want, review the details, choose an available time slot, and click Book Session. Review the booking summary, proceed to payment, and confirm the booking. You will receive an on-screen confirmation, an email receipt, and the session will appear in your dashboard.
Retry the payment and confirm that your card and billing details have been entered correctly. If the issue persists, contact Clarilux support.
To prepare effectively:
  • Confirm that your internet connection is stable.
  • Test your microphone and camera before the session starts.
  • Choose a quiet environment free from interruptions.
  • Review any cases or materials shared by the examiner in advance.
Navigate to Sessions under the Marketplace, locate the scheduled session, and click Join Session. Allow microphone and camera permissions when prompted by your browser.
During a session, you may:
  • Answer questions posed by the examiner.
  • Share your screen if required.
  • Receive real-time feedback.
  • Record the session for later review.
Common causes include weak internet connectivity, browser permission issues, or attempting to join before the session start time. Try refreshing the page, checking your internet connection, and re-enabling microphone and camera permissions in your browser. If the issue persists, contact support.
After a session, candidates receive a score, written examiner comments, a performance breakdown, and recommendations for improvement. These are accessible from your dashboard.
From your dashboard, you can:
  • View upcoming and completed sessions.
  • Cancel bookings subject to Marketplace policy.
  • Reschedule where this option is enabled by the examiner.
  • Access your full session history.

Go to Account Settings under your initials icon at the top right, then click Availability. You can set a one-time availability using the calendar or define recurring slots using Weekly Availability. Once availability is saved, your listing becomes visible in the Marketplace.
Log in to Clarilux, navigate to Sessions, locate the scheduled session, and click Join Session at the scheduled time.
Examiners can use structured scoring templates, provide live feedback to candidates, and record sessions for later reference or quality assurance.
Wait for the platform’s grace period to elapse or attempt to contact the candidate via email.
Refresh the browser, check that the platform has the required device permissions, ensure you are on a supported browser, and restart your audio or video devices if necessary.
During or after the session, grade the candidate according to the rubrics provided, add any comments or notes, share improvement recommendations, and finalise the assessment. Results are made instantly visible to the candidate once finalised.

Section 4 - Marketplace Policies

Cancellation rules include defined candidate cancellation windows, refund eligibility criteria, limitations on examiner cancellations, and procedures for handling no-shows. Specific timelines and refund percentages are governed by the current Marketplace policy in force at the time of booking.
Rescheduling is permitted where the examiner has enabled this option for the relevant session. Candidates should check the session details before booking to confirm whether rescheduling is available.
